Angelo Cuzalina, MD

 

Dr. Angelo Cuzalina is a native Oklahoman from McAlester, Oklahoma where he was a state champion wrestler in high school. He attended Oklahoma State University on a wrestling scholarship and obtained a bachelors degree in Physiology.  He made US National Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling teams and medaled in World championships in 1982 and 1985.

 

Following college, Dr. Cuzalina graduated with Honors and obtained both Medical and Dental degrees. He then completed an internship year in General Surgery prior to finishing a full residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. After residency, Dr. Cuzalina went on to complete a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Texas. He is certified by two surgical boards including the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.

 

Dr. Cuzalina has trained intensively with three former Presidents of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and has performed over 5000 cosmetic surgery procedures. He was elected to the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in 2005 and serves as the Chairman of the Fellowship Committee for the AACS.  Dr. Cuzalina was also chairman for the National Cosmetic Surgery meeting in Florida in January 2006 and has served as faculty for the AACS Cosmetic Surgery Board Review Course since 2005.

 

Dr. Cuzalina is frequently faculty for cosmetic breast, body, and facial rejuvenation courses given to other surgeons around the world and has been asked to speak on several occasions internationally on cosmetic surgery procedures.  He commonly performs endoscopic breast surgery as well as endoscopic facial cosmetic surgery to provide his patients with smaller incisions.  Dr. Cuzalina has written several textbook chapters on cosmetic surgery for leading publications in this specialty. Some of his recent publications include a book chapter on endoscopic forehead and brow lift surgery, a chapter on facial implants and another on face and neck lifts.

 

Dr. Cuzalina has been in active private practice with Tulsa Surgical Arts in south Tulsa since 1998 and is the fellowship director of an approved cosmetic surgery fellowship program where he trains other surgeons in the art of cosmetic surgery.
