Consultation and Planning for Surgery

At Tulsa Surgical Arts, the initial consultation is complimentary.  At this private and confidential visit, you can express your concerns and desires. Good communication is essential at this visit.  In your initial consultation, you'll be asked to explain in detail why you want the procedure and how you hope to look and feel afterward. It's important to set aside any awkwardness you might feel, and speak candidly about the changes you'd like to see. You should feel completely assured that you and your surgeon understand one another.  Tell your surgeon if any part of the consultation makes you uncomfortable, or if you have any special privacy requests.  Above all, it's important to have realistic expectations about your surgery.

It is important to inform us of all your medical conditions and any medications that you are taking.  We will review your health history and perform a brief physical exam.  If you are planning breast implant surgery, we will let you try on sizers to help you decide your final breast size.  We will then present you with appropriate treatment options to address your areas of concern.  We will also review all the risks, benefits and alternative treatments available and do our very best to answer all your questions and concerns.  A parent or legal guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 at the consultation visit.  When planning your surgery, good communication between you and your cosmetic surgeon is essential.

Our doctors will discuss a number of factors that may influence your surgery. Make sure you fully understand these considerations.  At the completion of your consultation, our friendly staff will give you a detailed cost estimate and discuss payment options with you.

For patients desiring non-surgical treatments such as Botox® or soft tissue fillers, many times the injections can be performed the same day as the consultation.  If you desire surgery, we can assist you in selecting a date for surgery.  We perform surgery every day, Monday through Friday in our AAAHC approved outpatient surgery center.

We require a non-refundable $500 deposit to secure your surgery date.  The money will be applied to the balance of your surgery fee.  We require payment in full a minimum of one week prior to your expected surgery date.  We accept personal checks, cash, money order, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.  We work closely with several finance companies if you require this.

You will need to see us again one week prior to your surgery for a preoperative history and physical exam.  At this visit we will perform a detailed exam and discuss further with you about the surgical procedure, risks and recovery.  You will sign surgical consent forms and photographs will be taken at this visit.  We will give you detailed pre and post-operative instructions and give you your prescription for after surgery.

After hours you can reach the surgeon on call by calling the Physician’s Exchange at 918-392-7900.
