James Koehler, MD
 James Koehler, M.D. is a cosmetic surgeon with an impressive list of academic and professional achievements.
Internationally trained, Dr. Koehler obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree with distinction followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Alberta in 1994. He ranked first in his class and was awarded with the most prestigious ADA gold medal.
He continued his education in a general practice residency at the University of Washington and it was during his training at Harborview Medical Center, that he became interested in a surgical career. Armed with skilled hands and a keen eye for detail Dr. Koehler was well suited for the technical demands of surgery.
Dr. Koehler then attended Medical School at the highly respected University of Alabama and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999. He was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha honors in addition to receiving the Scholastic Achievement Award in Medicine.
Upon completion of a General Surgery internship, Dr. Koehler pursued his interests in Maxillofacial surgery at the University of Alabama. Training at one of the top programs in the United States, Dr. Koehler then completed a Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Peter Waite, Past President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
He accepted a faculty position at the University of Alabama to share his knowledge and experience with residents and students. It was an honor to be asked to serve on the admissions committee for the University of Alabama, School of Medicine. He served on this committee for two years.
With a focused interest in Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Koehler rounded out his training by completing a Full Body Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Angelo Cuzalina, current Board of Trustee member and Chairman of the communications committee for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He trained intensively in breast and body surgery, liposuction, endoscopic surgery as well as minimally invasive techniques.
Continuing in the tradition of high standards and quality patient care, Dr. Koehler joined the cosmetic practice at Tulsa Surgical Arts. During your private and confidential consultation with Dr. Koehler, you will realize his sincere interests in your concerns and desires.
