The Tulsa Animal Rescue foundation posted about it on their blog, ArfTulsa, saying that without the help of Dr. Koehler and Dr. Huckaby from Bent Arrow Vet, the dog’s chances of survival were “slim.”

Dr. Huckaby from Bent Arrow Vet. and Tulsa Plastic Surgeon Dr. Koehler from Tulsa Surgical Arts joined forces. They donated their services and plated his hip. Darren Swiggett from Stryker-Leibinger donated the plates and screws!

They say Koehler is now getting a second chance at life and already putting some weight on his hip. Let’s hope he finds a good home!

To get the most out of your office visit, follow these two easy steps:

1. Come prepared

Make a list of questions that you think are 1) important or 2) difficult to understand. Depending on the procedure you are interested in, it might be somewhat difficult to get straight answers, and you might find conflicting information. Fortunately, the consultation offers a perfect opportunity to get straight answers from a professional.

It also helps to define the general goals you have for cosmetic surgery. Some patients have been considering a procedure for years and know exactly what they want; others are just starting their search. While a consultation can be useful in either case, you’ll get more from the experience if you have at least a vague idea of your goals.

2. Come with an open mind

It’s important that you communicate well with the doc; that means disclosure of your medical history, past procedures, and reasons for surgery. This part of the process carries through all the way to your recovery and results, and it will help our surgeons serve you better.

If it seems difficult to communicate your goals, use cosmetic surgery before and after pictures or other visual aids. You can view our photos or bring examples that you think are appealing.

We wanted to share a few pictures from this year’s Davenport Classic, a golf tournament held each year in honor of our friend Randy Davenport, a former McAlester Police Officer who served in the line of duty before suffering a gunshot wound which left him paralyzed.

Unfortunately, minimal support was available to Randy and his family after this tragic event, so with the help of our staff, some friends and even a few patients, we raise money for him with the golf tournament in his honor.

They lectured along with the internationally recognized plastic surgeon Dr. Oscar Ramirez (in both pictures).

At this meeting, Dr. Cuzalina was elected by the Board of Trustees as the next Treasurer for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Koehler was named as Chairman for the Fellowship Training Committee. Both our doctors are actively involved in the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Overall, the meeting was a great opportunity for doctors from around the world to share their experiences and learn about the latest advances in the field of cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Koehler and Cuzalina stayed for several days after the meeting to give review lectures to surgeons preparing for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery examination.
