How Long Does Juvederm Last?
Juvederm has received FDA approval for a persistence of one year. This does not necessarily mean that the results last an entire year; it means there is still material present at one year. You will typically need a touch-up treatment with Juvederm after six months.
Several formulas of Juvederm are available with different concentrations of hyaluronic acid. Juvederm® Ultra Plus is a denser product than Juvederm® Ultra because it is designed for deeper wrinkles and creases. The latest formula, Juvederm® Ultra XC, is made with anesthetic to enhance the comfort of your injections.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of your tissue, and it plays an important role in the appearance of your skin. By delivering nutrients, hydrating, and cushioning, it helps to maintain skin structure and volume. As a filling agent, hyaluronic acid has been used since the mid-90s. Today, it is among the top choices for cosmetic surgeons. You can find it in several of the latest fillers, including Juvederm®, Restylane® and Prevelle.
