About The Brazilian Butt Lift

The Brazilian butt lift is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the U.S. Without using an implant, a Brazilian butt lift helps individuals attain shapelier and more defined buttocks. Weight loss, aging, and genetics can cause your butt to look flat. Today, a rounder-looking posterior is more preferred than a flat behind. Using your own fat, the Brazilian butt lift adds volume to the buttocks. To do this, Dr. Angelo Cuzalina utilizes a fat grafting and transfer technique. This technique uses Smartlipo™ or VASER liposuction to remove fat from a specific part of your body and then injects it into your butt. With an artistic perspective and many years of experience, Dr. Cuzalina can create stunning, natural-looking results at Tulsa Surgical Arts in Tulsa, OK.

What Are The Benefits Of A Brazilian Butt Lift?

If you want more voluptuous curves, the Brazilian butt lift is an easy way to remove fat from undesirable areas of the body while enhancing your bottom. The result is shapelier-looking buttocks with a heightened hourglass shape. A BBL is especially beneficial if you want to boost your appearance without silicone implants or invasive surgery that may increase your risk of complications. Tulsa Surgical Arts offers a full range of enhancements for those who don't want to bother with expensive or drastic procedures.

I had a Brazilian butt lift on September 7, 2018 and I ablsolutely LOVE my results. The nurses were amazing and very sweet! They were great at helping control my pain levels. Dr. Cuzalina is amazing and so nice and wants to make sure that I am satisfied with my results every time I go for my post op visits! The guest suite was really nice as felt like I was at home! I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Are You A Good Brazilian Butt Lift Candidate?

During your consultation, Dr. Cuzalina will listen to your goals and determine if you have enough fat to remove for the transfer process. If you have lighter body weight or a limited amount of fat, you may not qualify for a Brazilian butt lift. Also, you should have good skin laxity. If your lower body has loose and sagging skin, you may require a butt lift with surgery. However, if you maintain a good weight, have enough fat to extract and transfer, and want to avoid an implant, a Brazilian butt lift can help you achieve your desired results.

Surgical Technique

During your procedure, we will use anesthesia to help you remain comfortable. As an outpatient treatment, a Brazilian butt lift takes about 2 – 3 hours, but the timing depends on the amount of fat that we remove. At the beginning of your surgery, we start by using liposuction to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the lower back, upper thighs, stomach, and flanks. Using precise and safe techniques, we remove the fat and place it within a sterile centrifuge. After the fat is purified, we carefully place it into syringes, inject it into the buttocks, and massage the skin to ensure the surface looks even. We repeat this step until reaching the desired fullness.

What To Expect

After a Brazilian butt lift, we will monitor you and then send you home to recover. As you heal, please keep in mind that you will need to care for two treatment areas. We will provide detailed post-treatment instructions that outline how to manage your incisions, liposuctioned areas, and discomfort. In both treatment areas, you will experience some bruising and discomfort. For at least two weeks, patients should try to avoid placing weight on the backside. After the swelling has subsided, you can see your results, but generally, it requires about 4 – 6 weeks before seeing your final outcomes. Once fully healed, your backside will appear more round and shapely. Even better, liposuction can make your results look more beautiful by removing unwanted fat from the tummy, thighs, or love handles.

How much does a Brazilian butt lift cost?

The total cost for your Brazilian butt lift (BBL) will include the cost of both fat transfer and liposuction, anesthesia, and facility fees, plus care before and after your surgery. When Dr. Cuzalina has developed your treatment plan, he will be better able to estimate your costs. It's best to concentrate on choosing a surgeon you trust, like Dr. Cuzalina, so they will work with you to make your BBL affordable. Tulsa Surgical Arts takes many payment types, and we can help you find low-interest medical financing.

Should I get implants or a fat transfer?

To improve the shape and size of your buttocks, you can choose butt augmentation with either silicone implants or a fat transfer (the Brazilian butt lift). In your initial consultation, Dr. Cuzalina will discuss both methods and help you decide which fits your body and goals. He will also evaluate your body to find the best areas that would benefit from liposuction (usually the stomach, thighs, or back). You may not be a candidate for a BBL if your body fat percentage is too low.

How long will my results last?

While some fat might be reabsorbed by your body after BBL, most of the fat cells will stay in their new location for many years. To keep your results, you should keep your weight steady because significant weight loss or gain can alter the results of your Brazilian butt lift. That's why Dr. Cuzalina highly recommends you be at a healthy, stable weight prior to your BBL, so it is easier for you to stay at.

How can I recover faster after a BBL?

To help speed your recovery following a BBL, Dr. Cuzalina or someone on his team will give you post-operative instructions. You should avoid sitting on your butt for at least two weeks as the area heals. Dr. Cuzalina recommends you buy a donut-shaped or nursing pillow, which allows you to sit down with pressure placed on your thighs instead of your butt. Short walks and light stretching will improve your blood circulation and decrease inflammation. Dr. Cuzalina may also recommend a special post-surgical massage that can help your recovery.

Will a Brazilian butt lift remove loose skin?

The name of the surgery, Brazilian butt lift, is a little confusing since it is not really a butt lift, which removes loose and sagging skin from the buttocks. Although, the new volume transferred to your buttocks during a Brazilian butt lift may fill some loose skin. If you are concerned about moderate or severe loose skin in your buttocks, you may need a gluteoplasty with your Brazilian butt lift. Dr. Cuzalina will go over your options based on your goals and physical exam during your initial consultation.
